STRENGTHENING GOOD GOVERNANCE IN LAND DISTRIBUTION PROJECT (SGGLD)is the project got grant support from Japan Social Development Fund(JSDF) through World Bank-Cambodia and endorsement from Ministry of Land Management of Urban Planning and Construction(MLMUPC), Ministry of Interior( MoI) and Ministry of Economic and Finance(MEF) for support to Land Allocation for Social and Economic Development(LASED) project in the part of dissemination of information and to integrate communications from stakeholders into the project implementation dialogue. And increase of social land concessions principle awareness raising, information dissemination and engagement civil society organization, beneficiaries group, communities support group and stakeholders part take all key main steps of social land concession project implementation in the target areas.
Development Objective :
To build capacity and voice of the landless families and civil society organisation ( CSOs) in gaining access to land and livelihood support for the poor working with Government’s LASED project. The focus here is on the NGOs complementary role in facilitating and empowering rural community organisation and government’s role as infrastructure developer as well as livelihood support.
Specific Objective 1 :
Build capacity of communities, CSGs, CBOs, NGOs, CCs to enhance information, dissemination, participation, transparency, accountability and conflict resolution in fulfilling their roles in the social land concession process.
Specific Objective 2 :
Maintain effective relationships between communities, NGOs and authorities at all levels in project implementation.
Wathnakpheap's Role and Project Strategy :
• Establish and maintain the roles and relationship between RGCs' implementation stakeholders and communities, civil society/interested/ involved NGOs to complement each other to contribute to the successful implementation of the SLC process.
• Build social and institutional accountabilities to ensure information dissemination, participation, transparency and conflict resolution in all steps of SLC.
• Ensure that poor and vulnerable families gain meaningful access and secure tenure to land and the means of production.
